If you walk across the street and down the alley of these neighbors, you will find a fish pond in the backyard. Some of us, out for a walk, stop by to see how the fish are doing. Not one was in swimming mode and the picture looks like an art piece instead of a pond. Go
here if you want to post an odd shot linking to Kathy's meme for Odd Shot Monday.
A koi abstract!
ReplyDeleteI was going to say something like 'a koi abstract'!
ReplyDeleteI like the shimmering water! looks like they have a collection of ornamental carp.
ReplyDeleteCarps koi! they are japanese fishes often seen in ponds. The way you show them looks like a modern painting!great picture!
ReplyDeleteI don't know what the temperature is there but when its cold the fish sort of go into a hibernation...then on a warm day you'll see them swimming around.
ReplyDeleteCheck out my post tomorrow...took some bench shots for you.
Mama Bear
Yes, beautiful, artistic shot.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful shot. Nice of these guys to stop and pose where the light changes. This is really neat.
ReplyDeleteThere were koi in a pond near us but we haven't seen them in a while,I think the heron may have eaten them all.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you got your snow, finally, they are prediciting snow for us but I don't want it. The fruit trees are blooming and that will ruin any chance of fruit.
This reminded me of when me daughter was small around twenty five years ago, and not having a car, we would walk together everywhere. One of the places we would enjoy stopping would be a pond in a local front yard, observing the large fish. You don't see suburban ponds much anymore here - probably hard to keep replenishing the water in South Australia with our summer water restrictions.
ReplyDeleteIs the koi alive? Interesting photo.
