Thanks and goodbye for awhile. . .

I am very discouraged.  Something has happened to my camera again (third one) and I can't afford to buy another one at this time so the only thing I can do is quit blogging.  Thanks to all my friends in blog land.  Occasionally, I might drop by your site when or if I  get over this camera "problem."    Thanks for your friendship and maybe one day we will meet here again.  I have enjoyed reading your blogs but having nothing to share, I am not comfortable continuing.   Blessings!

September First Friday ARTWALK

Each first Friday of the month, all the artists have their doors open free to the general public to come and see their artwork.  There is a real variety each time, and often there are  new artists whose work is displayed prominently.
The glass blowers are always fun to watch but never enough time to see them make the final product IF you plan to visit the other art places downtown.

The artist who did this one has just  moved to Vancouver.  He says he will participate in shows each month now.  All his paintings are abstracts and come in different sizes.

Musicians play at many of the art sites because MUSIC is an art in itself!
This sculpture was made in many layers of paper.  It was impressive to see each layer.
Photography of doors. . . this should be familiar to several of my visitors. . .

And last, but not least, metal sculpture. . .
So many more beautiful paintings and such to see.  First Friday art walk is always a blessing.  We get to share in the art of these artists and even enjoy free refreshments at each place also!  My friend, Glenn (who died last year) introduced me to the Art Walk and I  go each month ever since. There's a small group of us who go faithfully.  Thanks Glenn!

All the colors on one plant

Do you see them?  From left -- green, purple, pink, blue and white. . .CLICK on photo to see the white one on the right. . .  They influence the colors by adding zinc to the soil.

Another rainy day in Vancouver. . .

This tree always blossoms so late in summer and is such a welcoming sight when many of the other blossoms have disappeared for the cooler weather.

"Stretch" anyone?

Went down to the river for a few minutes on Saturday and  walked past this stretch limo so, naturally, I had to get a photo!

Where are they?

In our Rose Garden downtown at the park, there were beautiful orange roses. . .
                                                                          and pink ones . . .
                                                                EVEN white ones

                                                                 Even yellow ones!!!!!!!!!
BUT NOT ONE RED ONE WAS LEFT.

Down on the Columbia. . .

As I approach the bridge, it looks like a plane is headed right for it but instead,
it is heading for the Portland International Airport, across the river.

No action on the eastern side of the bridge . . .

Just one small cabin cruiser taking advantage of the nice day.

The fishing pier is quiet since they closed it down. . .

On the way back towards home I spotted these wildflowers going to seed:

They are just as beautiful now!

It's magic!

I really enjoy photographing the prisms I find on the street after it rains. We had one day of rain and it is back to sunshine and hot weather again.

Stoneage bus advertising. . .

Saw this on a bus at the transsit center today while waiting for a bus to arrive to meet a friend and fellow teacher. Very clever, don't you think?
