Just like the Kaiser shipyard here in Vancouver, women were an important part of the war effort in many cities. How wonderful that Bremerton cared enough to honor this one to represent all!
I suppose Esther could never imagine herself, as a humble rivett heater, being one day immortalized with such a wonderful tribute, and along with her sister, their labours acknowledged on a plaque. Great to see these two women acknowledged in this way.
I like those statues, made like if the real person was there. It makes them very "alive"!..beautyful tribute to the women's work
