A great color for that flower; i knew the blue, and the pink, but never saw purple ones!
You've been making a color collection, haven't you? I think you mentioned that.Did you know that these flowers--hydrangea--can range from pink to blue, and sometimes on the same plant? The difference is in the acidity of the soil--they are like litmus paper, though I don't know how the ones on the same plant can end up being different colors.
I love them! So, so pretty and they dry so well to make bouquets for the winter!
You've gathered some wonderful bloom shots from Portland, Paulie! Every color of the rainbow!
I've never seen them this pretty shade of lavender. I have seen them in pink, blue and white, though.
Purple is gorgeous. Thank you for this refreshing post!
Aren't hydrangeas wonderful? You can even dry them and bring them indoors.
I want to know- How do you get purple? Are they special, or what do you have to feed them. Paulie, great shot to get me thinking!
