Burnside Bridge

This bridge raises for tall ships.  Every year for the Rose Festival, the tall ships come in to help Portland celebrate.

  1. Very impressive bridge! the two towers look like two small lighthouses!or maybe two middle-age towers, like in old castles! Very unusual and interesting!

  2. We have a bridge in our city that opens for tall ships too. I always hope I don't have to wait in the car on the bridge with other traffic when it happens, particularly at the front! My husband thinks it's great fun, but it gives me the heebie jeebies. Great photo Paulie!
